On July 15 and 16, the International Forum for the Reconstruction of Ukraine REBUILD took place in Lviv. UA LVIV 2022. How does demining help restore the country's economy? This was reported by the speakers of the "Free Land" program.
"The Charitable Foundation of Bank Lviv was looking for an up-to-date strategic project with a long-term perspective. We want to help the country both during the war and after the victory. We have chosen the topic of demining because it has a humanitarian, economic and environmental basis. First of all, we are actively acting to save people's lives. We also help businesses to return for economic use production areas dotted with unexploded mines and shells, in particular, in the agricultural sector. Another problem that is currently little talked about is the environmental threat. It is associated with the destruction of soils and their chemical pollution due to artillery and missile strikes. We will work with all this within the framework of our "Free Land" program," said Anna-Maria Romanchuk, leader of the Vilna Zemlya program and marketing director of Bank Lviv.
"The success of the charitable initiative is in the effective cooperation of responsible business and the state. With the support of our program "Free Land", a target course on the preparation of identifiers of explosive objects was launched on the basis of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Thus, from among caring Ukrainians, we create civil assistance to sappers on the ground, primarily in agrarian areas that are remote from large cities. I consider this project to be infrastructural. Naturally, Bank Lviv joined it through its own Charitable Foundation," Uliana Pyatak, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Bank Lviv Charitable Foundation, shared her vision.
