Eight years of armed conflict and more than 4 months of full-scale war turned Ukraine into one of the most mined countries in the world. According to experts, about 250 square kilometers of Ukrainian land are hit by unexploded mines, grenades, bombs, shells, missiles. The enemy continues to vilely encroach on our lives.
The Charitable Foundation of Bank Lviv within the framework of its key program "Free Land" was actively involved in solving the painful problem. On the basis of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine , the first training course on visual identification of explosive objects was launched. Teachers are experienced sappers.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Free Land program of the Bank Lviv Charitable Foundation and the Spilnodiya program, implemented by the East Europe Foundation in partnership with the Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research and the NGO "Together Against Corruption" with the financial support of the European Union.
Among the cadets are police officers, firefighters, farmers, foresters, volunteers. Overwhelmingly, they are representatives of remote agricultural communities of the de-occupied Kyiv region. Identifying explosive objects on the spot and taking the necessary security measures is, firstly, saving human lives, and secondly, all possible assistance to our heroic sappers who carry a watch around the clock.
Right now, the qualification of the identifier of explosive objects in the training camp of the State Emergency Service together with other volunteers is received by representatives of the Bank of Lviv Charitable Foundation Andriy Melnyk and Anna-Maria Romanchuk. There are many urgent tasks ahead of the fund, the solution of which directly determines the pace of liberation of the Ukrainian land from the terrible consequences of this ruthless war.
